ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — The Manhattan Jaspers are set to face off with the Fairfield Stags (24-6, 19-1 MAAC) in the Hercules Tires MAAC Championship Game at 11 a.m. on Saturday on ESPNews. It will be Manhattan's first appearance in the championship game since 2003, following a 72-59 semifinal win over the Quinnipiac Bobcats.

Manhattan's (21-10, 14-6) road to the championship game saw them knock off Canisius on Thursday in the quarterfinals before getting the better of Quinnipiac on Friday. Saturday's matchup lines the Jaspers up against the top-seeded Stags, who are coming off double-digit wins over Iona and Niagara to advance to their first championship game since 2012.

The Jaspers are led by First Team All-MAAC selection Dee Dee Davis who is averaging 19.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, and five assists across two games in Atlantic City. Meanwhile, All-MAAC Third Team recipient Brazil Harvey-Carr is averaging 16.5 points and nine boards in her first MAAC Tournament. Graduate student Courtney Warley is playing in her fifth MAAC Tournament and has contributed 11.5 points and nine boards per game across the two games. Prior to the start of the tournament, Warley earned First Team All-MAAC honors for the second time in her career.

In the two games played at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall, Manhattan has outscored and outrebounded their opponents by a combined 25 points and 27 rebounds. The Jaspers enter Saturday's championship game, riding a four-game winning streak and winning seven of their past eight games. Since beating Monmouth at home on January 25th, Manhattan has posted a 12-2 record.

Fairfield won the MAAC regular-season championship on the strength of a 19-1 record against league opponents. The Stags are led by three-time All-MAAC First Team selection, and MAAC Player of the Year, Lou Lopez-Senechal who is averaging a league-high 19.4 points per game. The Stags' offense also features All-MAAC Third Team recipients Callie Cavanaugh and Rachel Hakes.

Manhattan lost both games against Fairfield during the regular season — a 70-55 decision at Fairfield on January 20th and by a score of 75-63 at Draddy Gym on February 26th. Last season, the two met in the quarterfinals, which ended in a 51-40 win for the Stags.

The winner of the MAAC Championship Game will get an automatic bid for the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament.
