ATLANTIC CITY, N.J.- The Manhattan women's basketball team defeated the Quinnipiac Bobcats 72-59 to advance to the program's first conference championship game since the 2003 season. 

The Jaspers jumped out to an early 10-4 lead in the first three minutes over the Bobcats in the opening quarter. In the seventh minute, Brazil Harvey-Carr answered a Quinnipiac three with one of her own. Following the three from Harvey-Carr, Dee Dee Davis grabbed a steal at half-court and finished with a layup. Manhattan (21-10) ended the quarter with a 27-14 lead and would not give up the lead for the rest of the game. 

Quinnipiac (20-11) managed to close the gap in the second and trailed 35-27 after two. Davis scored 10 of her 21 points, and Brazil Harvey-Carr tallied seven of her 22 in the opening two quarters. The Jaspers shot 41-percent from inside the field and went 2-5 from three. The Green and White forced nine turnovers and converted that into 13 points in the first twenty minutes of play. 

In the third, the Jaspers proved resilient and maintained a 51-43 lead to start the final ten. With just over four minutes to play, Harvey-Carr scored five points in under a minute--a second-chance layup and a deep-top-of-the-key-three. Manhattan then pulled away with the 72-59 victory. 

Harvey-Carr had a game-high 22 points, nine 'boards, and four assists. Courtney Warley finished with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Davis added two steals and five rebounds to her 21 points. Jenna Jordan finished with six points and five rebounds.

Defensively, the Jaspers grabbed 42 rebounds, six steals, and two blocks. Manhattan forced eleven Quinnipiac turnovers and converted those into sixteen points. The Jaspers used their height to their advantage, scoring 40 points in the paint. 

Manhattan will take on the top-seeded Fairfield Stags in the 2022 MAAC Championship Game on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in Atlantic City, NJ. The game will air on ESPNews and ESPN+.
