RIVERDALE, N.Y. – The Battle of the Bronx is set to return to Draddy Gym on Saturday for its 52nd edition.
The yearly rivalry will put the 2-4 Jaspers, who are coming off a 1-1 week at the GCU Thanksgiving Classic, against a 4-4 Fordham squad.
Last year, the game took place at Rose Hill Gym which ended with a 65-63 win for Fordham that came down to the final seconds. Tickets to Saturday's contest can be purchased HERE.
Petra Juric has been fantastic for Manhattan since her return to the lineup against Howard on Saturday, Nov. 19. Against the Bison, she dropped 21 points and hauled in a career-high 14 rebounds. She followed that up with a 22 and 12 showing against Lindenwood in the first game of the GCU Thanksgiving Classic. Eight of those 12 boards came on the offensive glass. She also added two rejections and a steal. In the final game at GCU, she posted another 21 points and 11 rebounds against North Dakota. Her performances at GCU earned her MAAC Player of the Week.
Juric was not the only one to shine in the desert, Bella Nascimento flexed her offensive skills. She netted a career-high 23-points on the Lions off of 10-17 shooting from the floor, 2-4 from deep. She added three rebounds and a pair of assists and steals. She followed that up with a 21-point performance while shooting 8-16 from the field. She once again stuffed the stat sheet, adding a pair of rebounds and steals and one block and assist.
The Rams will arrive in Draddy after facing off with MAAC member Fairfield on Wednesday and suffering an overtime loss to the Stags, 82-75. The Rams are paced by Asiah Dingle, who is providing the Rams with 19.6 points per game. Kaitlyn Downey is adding 14.1 points and 9.8 boards per game.
