Central Connecticut & Marist Await Manhattan in Next Two Games

RIVERDALE, N.Y. – The Manhattan men's basketball team will play twice over the next four days, with the Jaspers taking on Central Connecticut State Friday in their final non-conference affair, followed by a trip to Marist to take on the Red Foxes on Monday evening.

Both games will tip off at 7 p.m. and will be broadcasted on ESPN+.
 
Marist will be the Jaspers' second conference foe of the season. MAAC play opened for Manhattan with a win against Fairfield on Dec. 1.
 
Manhattan enters the week with a 3-6 record following a loss to Bryant, 104-97, in overtime. Before that, the team was taken down by Providence, 99-59.
 
Samir Stewart has been pacing the Jaspers, averaging 16.2 points per game and leading the team with 4.2 assists per game. Additionally, Josh Roberts is contributing 13.6 and 9.7 rebounds a game while shooting 75.4-percent from the field early on in the 2022-2023 campaign.
 
Central Connecticut sits at 1-10, with all games being non-conference tilts. Recently, the Blue Devils were defeated by Fordham 90-77. The Blue Devils are led by Kellen Amos, who is averaging 13.1 points per game, as well as Nigel Scantelbury, who's averaging 10.7 points per game.
 
Marist enters the week with a 4-5 record. The Red Foxes were recently defeated by Boston University 72-70. Marist is led by Patrick Gardner, who has averaged 17.6 points and 7.9 rebounds per game.
 
Stewart is coming off a 35-point effort against Bryant on Sunday. That is the most points scored by a MAAC player this season. The 35 points are T19 by a player in a game in Division I this season.
 
Manhattan is the best team in the MAAC in turning its opposition over. The Jaspers force 16.89 turnovers per game, which is 39th in Division I. The Jaspers are also first in the MAAC in steals per game at 8.7.
