HAMDEN, CONN – Manhattan fell to Quinnipiac Sunday afternoon in a three set match, with the final set scores being 25-13, 25-13, 25-20.
The first set didn't leave much room for the Jaspers to take the lead after Quinnipiac went on a four-point scoring run to make the score 18-10, and then immediately score another two points giving them a nine-point lead at 20-11.
The third set was a much more competitive affair for the Jaspers with the Green and White keeping the score within five for the entire set. Halfway through the set, the Jaspers rallied and went on a three point run kicked off by a kill from Camila Gomez. This run was broken up by an attack error, but the Jaspers quickly scored again from another kill by Gomez. Unfortunately, the Jaspers couldn't close the gap and lost the set 25-20.
The offensive leader of the game was again Gomez with 14 kills, Gomez also was a leader last game against Fairfield scoring 13 digs. The defense was led by Sarah Emmons today with 7 digs, followed by Gomez again with 6 digs.
The Jaspers play again Wednesday October 12th at 7 P. M. in Lawrenceville, N.J. against Rider.
