JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The Manhattan men's soccer team traveled to Jersey City to face off against Saint Peter's in the team's final MAAC road regular season contest. The teams battled to a 1-1 draw.
Each team earns a point in the MAAC standings, with the Jaspers moving to 7-4-5 (5-1-3 MAAC) while Saint Peter's moves to 2-10-3 (1-5-2).
Saint Peter's got on the board first, scoring in the eighth minute off the foot of Charles Roodlenscky. The goal was assisted by Tom Climpson and Reiss Skeen.
Manhattan stayed focused and responded, scoring the equalizer shortly after.
Henry Hamilton sent in a corner kick from the far side. Hamilton played it in, and
Noah Boyce was there and headed it home for his first goal of the season, tying the score up at one.
Manhattan threatened all game, with their offense significantly outperforming the Peacocks. Manhattan outshot Saint Peter's 23-8, 7-5 on goal. They took more corners, 10-1, as well.
The Jaspers out shot the Peacocks in the second half 11-3, including a shot off the crossbar by
Ronaldo Da Silva in the 64th minute, and did not yield a corner kick.
Daniel Polakowski made four saves on the road this afternoon.
The Jaspers regular-season finale, and senior day, on Saturday against Niagara at Gaelic Park.
