RIVERDALE, N.Y. – Manhattan women's soccer takes to the road for two games this week after picking up a win over Iona on Saturday.
The Jaspers visit Mount St. Mary's on Wednesday and Marist on Saturday. The Mountaineers and Red Foxes are one point ahead of the Jaspers in the MAAC standings going into the week.
Caitlin Alcoba scored the game-winning goal on Saturday against the Gaels. It was Alcoba's first of the season.
Julia Nicholas supplied the assist on the goal.
Kim Mains collected her fourth shutout of the season after stopping all four shots on goal from Iona.
The Mount went 1-1 last week with a 1-0 win against Saint Peter's before falling to Niagara 3-0. The Mountaineers sit at 2-4-6 overall and 1-3-2 in MAAC play this season. Kallie Bell paces the attack for Mount St. Mary's with seven points—one goal, five assists. In goal, Drew Camp has started nine of the 12 games and has posted an 1.18 goals against average, and an .821 save percentage. Wednesday's meeting will be the first meeting between the two schools.
Marist sits at 3-4-5 overall and 1-3-2 in MAAC play. The Red Foxes don't play on Wednesday before hosting the Jaspers on Saturday. Marist is coming off a tie with Siena, 1-1, in its last game. Nicole Colantuono paces the attack for the Red Foxes with nine points—four goals, one assist. Natalie Kelchner has played every minute in goal for Marist and has a .790 save percentage.
Mains is second in the MAAC in goals against average (0.89). Defensively, as a team, the Jaspers have allowed only 11 goals, which is the second-fewest in the MAAC.
Alcoba's goal on Saturday made her the eighth different Jasper to record a point this season and the fifth different goal scorer.
