Edison, NJ - The Manhattan Men's Soccer team has been tabbed ninth in the annual Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) preseason poll, as voted on by the league's 11 head coaches.
Quinnipiac earned seven first-place votes and 115 total points en route to being slated first. Defending champion Monmouth collected three first-place nods and 96 points in being picked to finish in a tie for second with Fairfield, which received one first-place vote and 96 overall points.
Rider was fourth (89 points), followed by Marist (71 points), Iona (59 points), Niagara (55 points), Saint Peter's (48 points), Manhattan (46 points), Siena (33 points) and Canisius (18 points).
Quinnipiac's Brage Aasen was selected as the 2021 Preseason Player of the Year.
The 2021 MAAC Men's Soccer Championship will feature the top eight teams this season with quarterfinal's action starting on Sunday, November 7. The semifinals will take place on Thursday, November 11 and the Championship Game is scheduled to take place on Sunday, November 14. All games will be hosted by the higher seed.
