Riverdale, NY – Manhattan fell to Fairfield by a 15-11 count in the second meeting in three days between the teams at Rafferty Stadium.
* The Jaspers came roaring out of the gates as senior Alaina Burgess (Holden, MA / The Governor's Academy), classmate Carmella Liscio (Blauvelt, NY / Tappan Zee) and junior Annie Freshour (Smithtown, NY / Smithtown East) all found the net in jumping out in front by a 3-0 count with 22:17 to play in the first half.
* Liscio would add her second goal at the 19:21 mark in reclaiming a three-goal advantage for the Green & White.
* The Stags would rally with five-straight scores, before Deb Peifer (GS, Collegeville, PA / Methacton) and junior Meghan Rodino (Natick, MA / Natick) notched back-to-back goals in tying it up at 6-6 right with 3:10 to play in the first half..
* Burgess opened the second-half scoring, before sophomore Jillian Reiner (Fair Lawn, NJ / Fair Lawn) and Peifer each found the back of the net in making it a 9-9 match with 14:52 remaining.
* Unfortunately, Fairfield answered with five-straight goals in opening up an insurmountable five-goal advantage with 7:44.
* Freshman Penelope Pennoyer (Frankfurt, Germany / Heinrich-Von-Gagern-Gymnasium) followed with her first collegiate score and junior Grace Lipponer (Lake Grove, NY / Sachem North) became the eighth different Jasper to score.
* Burgess, Liscio and Peifer each scored two goals to pace the Green & White on offense.
* Sophomore Andrea Liotta (Glenwood Landing, NY / North Shore) had a team-best seven draw controls and four ground balls.
* Classmate Ashley Gambardella (Bethpage, NY / Plainedge) made nine saves between the pipes.
* The Jaspers are now 0-4, while the Stags are 5-0.
* Manhattan will host Niagara on Saturday, March 20 at 12:00 pm.
