Frankfort, KY -
Senior Courtney Warley (West Chester, PA / Bishop Shanahan) scored a career-high 26 points, but it wasn't enough as Manhattan dropped a 68-55 decision to Cleveland State in the opening round of the 2021 Women's Basketball Invitational (WBI).

The Vikings improve to 12-9, while the Jaspers falls to 10-8.

Warley also grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds in posting her seventh double-double of the year, and the 21st of her career.

Trailing by nine with 4:29 to play in the third period, Warley hit a pair of free throws and a jumper, before junior Dee Dee Davis (Bronx, NY / Truman) drained a pull-up jumper to trim the deficit to 46-43 entering the fourth.
The Green & White methodically chipped away and tied it up at 52-52 with 5:16 to play in the game following another big bucket by Warley.
Unfortunately, the Vikings answered with a three pointer on the ensuing possession en route to finishing the game on a 16-3 run.

Davis joined Warley in double-figures for Manhattan with 11 points, while adding four rebounds and three assists.

* The Jaspers are now 4-7, all-time in the postseason, and 4-3 in WBI action.

* Warley, who eclipsed the 20-point plateau for the fifth time in her career, was 10-for-16 from the floor, and 6-of-7 from the line, while also adding three assists, two blocks, a steal and two drawn charges over 38 minutes.
* Her 26 points are the most by a member of the Green & White since Gabby Cajou (Stony Point, NY / North Rockland) had 28 in a 61-46 victory over LIU Brooklyn on November 6, 2018.
* This season, she has hit for double-digits in scoring 12 times and pulled down double-figures on the glass on 11 occasions.
* For her career, she has 43 double-figure rebounding and 42 double-figure scoring performances.
* Additionally, with her 10 rebounds she now has 865 in moving past Athletic Director Marianne Reilly into fourth place in the Manhattan record books.

* Davis scored in double-figures for the team-best 16th time this season.
* Graduate student Pamela Miceus (Haverstraw, NY / North Rockland) pulled down nine rebounds with five points, three assists and a block.
* Sophomore Jenna Jordan (Valley Cottage, NY / St. Francis Brooklyn) had four points and six rebounds in 19 big minutes off the bench.
* In the first period, the Vikings opened the scoring before the Jaspers ripped off a 7-2 spurt.

* Cleveland State would rally to open up a 14-point second quarter advantage, only to see the Jaspers respond with eight-straight points thanks to a Warley layup, a three-point play by Cajou and a three from Davis.
* The Vikings were led by Mariah White (17 points), Aminata Ly (15 points, 12 rebounds) and Destiny Leo (13 points).
