Atlantic City, NJ - No. 4 Fairfield held off No. 5 Manhattan by a 51-40 count in MAAC quarterfinal action at the Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall.
In defeat, All-MAAC Second Team performer Courtney Warley (Sr., West Chester, PA ' Bishop Shanahan) scored 11 point with seven rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocks to lead the way for the Jaspers.
Fellow All-MAAC Second Team honoree Dee Dee Davis (Bronx, NY / Truman) added 11 points with six rebounds and three steals.
Trailing 34-21 with 2:02 to play in the third quarter, Warley hit a layup to end the stanza, before junior Sydney Watkins (Wanaque, NJ / Saddle River Day) opened the fourth with a triple and graduate student Gabby Cajou (Stony Point, NY / North Rockland) split a pair to trim the deficit to 34-27 with 8:23 remaining.
Unfortunately, the Stags responded with an 8-2 run in extending the lead back out to 13 at 42-29 with 5:30 to play.
Down but not out, Manhattan ripped off seven of the next eight points to again cut it to seven at 45-38 with just over two minutes to play following a pair of Pamela Miceus (GS, Haverstraw, NY / North Rockland) free throws.

* Miceus capped the first-half scoring with a jumper off a feed from Warley.
* In the opening period, Manhattan posted a 22-17 rebounding mark, including 11-1 on the offensive end.
* Miceus grabbed a team-best eight rebounds, including seven on the offensive end, with six points, two steals and one block.
* She ends her career ranked sixth in school history with 101 rejections, while her high school teammate Cajou ends up eighth with 350 assists.
* Over five career MAAC Championship games, Warley is averaging 10.0 ppg and 6.4 rpg.

* Manhattan shot just 24.6 percent (14-of-57), including 13.0 percent (3-of-23).
* Fairfield, meanwhile, made good on 37.0 percent (17-of-46), including 30.0 percent (6-of-20).
* All-MAAC First Team honoree Lou Lopez-Senechal scored a game-high 21 points, on 8-of-17, while Samantha Lewis added 11 points.
