Riverdale, NY -
Manhattan lost a hard-fought battle to the Siena Saints by a score of 1-0 on a sunny day at Gaelic Park.

The Jaspers are now 2-4-2 and 0-1-1 in the MAAC, while the Saints improve to 5-4-1 and 1-1-0 in the league.

* Siena's goal, which would prove to be the decisive tally, came from Siena's Bilal Hersi in the 59th minute, who found daylight and deposited a shot into the left corner of the net from 10 yards out.

* Manhattan was unable to resolve the late deficit despite outshooting the Saints 10-6 on the afternoon.

* The Jaspers had their share of moments on offense too but couldn't find the elusive equalizer.

* In the 34th minute, junior Dorian Bounab found himself ahead of the offense but his shot was denied by Siena goalkeeper Greg Monroe.

* With the score still even, the Green & White looked like they were in again in the 55th minute but freshman Noah Boyce's breakaway opportunity was thwarted by Monroe who made a good read on the play to save Boyce's hard shot near the top of the box.

* Both defenses were up for the test in the first half, not giving the opposition much room to operate on offense. Following a career-high 11 saves against Iona, sophomore Danny DiMarco was hardly tested in the first half against the Saints while Manhattan was able to get off five attempts on the visitors.

* The first half amounted to a possession battle in the midfield without many opportunities to advance in the final third. To make up for it, Siena was able to pressure the Jaspers off the corner kick with seven attempts across the first 45 minutes, and ultimately finished with nine corner kicks to eight for the Green & White.

* Manhattan will look to turn the page on Wednesday, October 6 at Niagara as the match will start a three-game road trip for the Jaspers.
