West Long Branch, NJ -
Junior Dee Dee Davis (Bronx, NY / Preston) scored 11 of Manhattan's final 13 points to spark a 49-48 win over Monmouth at OceanFirst Bank Center.

With the win, the Jaspers sweep the two-game series while improving to 7-6 and 7-3 in the MAAC, as the Hawks fall to 0-6 and 0-2 in the league.

Trailing by three midway through the fourth period, Davis, got going with a three pointer before draining a second from long range to give Manhattan a 42-40 lead with 2:58 remaining.

On the ensuing possession, Jennifer Louro matched Davis from long range, before an undaunted Davis found a streaking Pamela Miceus (Sr., Haverstraw, NY / North Rockland) for a layup to put the visitors up 44-43 with 2:18 to play.

Miceus then registered the 10th Manhattan steal of the game, and Davis was the beneficiary on the offensive end with another three pointer in pushing its advantage out to four. After Monmouth briefly answered a jumper, Davis hit a pull-up to give the Jaspers an insurmountable 49-45 advantage with 1:01 remaining.

Monmouth would make things interesting down the stretch and missed a potential game winner at the buzzer in large part to the outstanding vertical defense by Christian Katsamouri (Thessaloniki, Greece / Hellenic College of Thessaloniki).
