Poughkeepsie, NY - Marist held off a late-charging Manhattan by a 50-46 count in MAAC play at McCann Arena.
Trailing by 15 at the break, the Jaspers were able to slice the deficit to 40-33 at the end of three quarters thanks to seven points in the stanza from junior Dee Dee Davis (Bronx, NY / Truman).
Manhattan kept its foot on the gas to open up the fourth period, ripping off 11 of the next 14 points, including nine-straight, en route to taking a 44-43 lead with 3:02 to play in regulation following a driving layup from graduate student Gabby Cajou (Stony Point, NY / North Rockland).
The Red Foxes briefly reclaimed the lead only to see Davis respond with a pair from the line in giving the Green & White a 46-45 advantage with 1:17 to play.
Unfortunately, Willow Duffell answered with a jumper, before converting a three-point play with 8.8 seconds remaining to hold off Manhattan.
Senior Courtney Warley (West Chester, PA / Bishop Shanahan) was terrific again for the Jaspers, pulling down a season-high 15 rebounds to go along with five points, three assists, three steals and one block.
Davis scored nine of her team-leading 11 points after halftime, with senior Pamela Miceus (Haversraw, NY / North Rockland) hitting for 10 points with four rebounds and two blocks to highlight the Manhattan double-digit scorers.
