Riverdale, NY -
Sophomore guard Emily LaPointe's (Staten Island, NY / Staten Island Academy) putback at the buzzer lifted Manhattan to a thrilling 71-70 overtime win against Quinnipiac at Draddy Gymnasium.

Thanks to LaPointe's game winner, the Jaspers improve a perfect 3-0 in the MAAC for the first time since the 2007-08 season.

Fueled by a 12-0 spurt to end the first half, Manhattan raced out to a 38-20 advantage at intermission, before stretching the advantage out to 45-24 with 5:48 to play in the third period following a LaPointe triple.

The Bobcats would then respond with a 30-8 spurt in taking a 54-53 lead with 35 seconds to play in regulation. Junior Sydney Watkins (Wanaque, NJ / Saddle River Day) would briefly reclaim the lead for Jaspers, only to see Quinnipiac tie it up at 56-56 to force overtime. In overtime, Manhattan came roaring out of the gates with a Courtney Warley (West Chester, PA / Bishop Shanahan) layup and a Dee Dee Davis (Jr., Bronx, NY / Truman) triple in quickly jumping in front by five. However, as was the case in regulation the Bobcats responded with six-straight points to take a scant 62-61 lead with 2:16 to play.

Following the back-and-forth storyline, Davis canned another triple, only to be matched by Sajada Bonner. Sophomore Christina Katsamouri (Thessaloniki, Greece/Hellenic College of Thessaloniki) then answered with a layup, before Davis made good on her three pointer of overtime in staking the Green & White to a 69-65 advantage with 26 seconds remaining.

Bonner followed with another three pointer, and after the Jaspers missed a pair from the line, Rose Caverly hit a pair from the line to give the visitors a 70-69 lead with 10 seconds to play while setting the stage for LaPointe's big shot.

On the final play, LaPointe corralled an errant Manhattan shot and her putback put the finishing touches on one of the best MAAC games in recent memory.
