Manhattan drops to 8-11 on the year and 5-5 in MAAC play, as Rider remains unbeaten at 9-0 in the conference and 16-2 overall this season.
Highlights:
- Freshman Emily LaPointe (Staten Island, NY / Staten Island Academy) earned her seventh-straight double-figure scoring performance, leading the Jaspers with 13 points. She added a team-high eight rebounds, one-off her career-high, to lead the Jaspers in rebounding for the second time this season.
- Courtney Warley (West Chester, PA / Bishop Shanahan) and Gabby Cajou (Stony Point, NY / North Rockland) each contributed 10 points to the Jasper offense against the Broncs. Warley added two steals to her stat line, while Cajou doled out three assists. She is now six assists away from tying Joann Nwafili (2004-08) for 15th place on the program's all-time list.
- The Jaspers forced 17 turnovers from the Broncs, while nabbing six steals as team. However, Manhattan could only convert those turnovers into seven points.
- The Jaspers were also out-manned on the glass, as the Broncs pulled down 39 boards with a 33-15 advantage on the defensive end.
- Locked in at 14 apiece after the first quarter, Rider shot over 73 percent in the second to take a 40-28 lead at the half. The Broncs shot 60 percent in the second half.
Manhattan returns home on Saturday, February 1 to host Saint Peter's at 2:00 pm. The game will also be the Jaspers' annual Girls and Women in Sports Day celebration, which will include a post-game all-sports clinics. Children 12 and under will receive free admission.
