Highlights:
- Courtney Warley (West Chester, PA / Bishop Shanahan) scored a team-high 18 points, setting a season-best while also pulling down 13 rebounds. She tied her career high of four assists, while also adding four steals on the night.
- Reigning MAAC Rookie of the Week Emily LaPointe (Staten Island, NY / Staten Island Academy) contributed 10 points to the Jasper offense against Quinnipiac, while Julie Høier (Aabyhoej, Denmark / Marselisborg Gymnasium) added nine.
- Høier pulled down nine rebounds and tied her career-high of six assists, the second-straight game she has hit that mark.
- After a struggle offensively in the first quarter, with both teams shooting less than 25 percent from the floor, the Jaspers found themselves down three with the ball with two seconds to go in the half. Already with one buzzer-beater under her belt this season, Gabby Cajou (Stony Point, NY / North Rockland) sank a three as time expired to tie up the ballgame at 28 apiece going into the locker room.
- The third quarter proved the challenge for the Jaspers, as Quinnipiac earned a 21-9 scoring advantage, holding Manhattan to just three field goals in the period.
- Quinnipiac went up by 17 in the fourth, before the Jaspers closed out the game on a 19-14 run, but it wasn't enough to overtake the Bobcats or cut their lead to single-digits in the final minutes.
- Manhattan forced 17 turnovers from Quinnipiac, scoring 14 points off TOs. But the Jaspers gave up 54 rebounds, including 41 on the defensive end, while also allowing for 11 second-chance points.
- Uncharacteristically, Manhattan shot poorly from the foul line in the game, going 6-21 from the stripe. It was the second-most free attempts of the season for the Jaspers.
Manhattan remains on the road to face Siena in Loudonville, NY on Thursday, January 16 at 11:00 am.
