Game 1: Manhattan 7, Rider 5
- After earning a season-high nine strikeouts Saturday against Monmouth, Rising continued her stellar performance in the pitcher's circle, carrying a perfect game into the sixth inning. She would finish with four strikeouts and two walks in 21 batters faced.
- Collectively, the Jaspers were also near-perfection in the field, including two highlight-worthy diving grabs from Kat Prevo (San Diego, CA / Our Lady of Peace) at third base.
- Pitney homered in the first inning to give the Jaspers a 2-0 lead early. Manhattan added to its lead in the second when Adriana Gambino (Stamford, CT / Westhill) tripled to center field, driving in a run. She then snuck home from third on a wild pitch to make it 4-0 Jaspers.
- Four batters later, Christine Gebhardt (Middletown, NJ / Middletown North) smacked a double to left center to score two more runs for Manhattan, ending the second inning up 6-0.
- The Jaspers would score their final run of the game in the fourth, when Gebhardt reached on a fielder's choice to score teammate Megan Gillooley (Clifton Park, NY / Shenendehowa).
- Junior Nicole Williams (Ansonia, CT / St. Joseph's) entered the game to pitch for Manhattan in the top of the sixth, after Rising's perfect game was broken up by a hit batter. Her first appearance of the season, Williams faced six batters over 1.0 innings. The Broncs scored four runs to close the gap to 7-4 in the top of the seventh, before Rising re-entered to complete the game.
- Inheriting two baserunners, Rising faced five batters in the seventh, letting up one run before striking out the final batter for a 7-5 victory. She improves to 5-8 on the season.
- McDermott picked up right where Rising left off in the pitcher's circle, no-hitting the Broncs through four innings in game two. She faced just 18 batters in the game, walking three and collecting her first shutout of the season.
- The Jasper bats were also on fire in the second game of the day, as Manhattan again jumped out to a 2-0 lead on Rider in the bottom of the first inning. Gebhardt drove in the first run with a single to right field. Morgan Sgarlata (Oneida, NY / Herkimer County CC) was then hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to drive in another run.
- Gambino picked up another RBI on the day in the bottom of the third with a single to left field that drove in the Jaspers' third run. Two batters later, Pitney singled down the left field line to pick up two more, making it 5-0 Manhattan.
- In the bottom of what would prove to be the final inning, Prevo doubled to center field to put the Jaspers ahead 6-0 with no outs. Pitney followed with a double of her own, scoring Prevo.
- Needing just one more run to end the game due to the five-inning run-rule, Emma Kindblom (Wilbraham, MA / Wilbraham & Monson Academy) knocked a single to center field to send Pitney home. The Jaspers finished with an 8-0 win.
- McDermott earned her fifth win of the season, now standing at 5-10 on the year.
Manhattan will host Saint Peter's in a MAAC doubleheader Wednesday at Gaelic Park. The first game will begin at 2:00 pm.
