St. John's 6, Manhattan 0
- The Johnnies broke out to a 5-0 lead in the bottom of the first, scoring five runs on two hits against starting pitcher Stephanie Kristo (San Jose, CA / Archbishop Mitty).
- Freshman Jessie Rising (Little Egg Harbor, NJ / Pinelands) entered the game in relief down 3-0 with the bases loaded and one out in the first. Rising forced the first batter she faced to ground to third for a fielder's choice out at home plate. The second batter, Anna Freveletti, then singled through the left side, scoring two more for St. John's. Rising got the third batter to ground out to second base to end the inning.
- Rising allowed just one hit over the next three innings, striking out three.
- The Jaspers also struggled at the plate during that timeframe, getting their first hit of the game in the top of the third, when Christine Gebhardt (Middletown, NJ / Middletown North) singled to right center, advancing teammate Lauren Pitney (Ansonia, CT / St. Joseph's) to third base with two outs. But Manhattan was unable to capitalize on the two baserunners, as Daniela Chiorazzi (Stony Point, NY / North Rockland) popped up to short to end the at bat.
- An inning later, Adriana Gambino (Stamford, CT / Westhill) led off for the Jaspers with a single through the right side, followed by a walk for Kat Prevo (San Diego, CA / Our Lady of Peace) to give Manhattan two baserunners. Two batters later, Kylie Carr (Andover, NJ / Immaculate Heart Academy) advanced both runners into scoring position with a ground out to the pitcher. But St. John's pitcher Angela Saric got herself out of the inning by striking out Manhattan's Emma Kindblom (Wilbraham, MA / Wilbraham and Monson Academy) on the next at bat.
- The Red Storm picked up one more run in the bottom of the fifth, as Laura Delgado knocked a double to left field with one on to make it 6-0.
- Rising went 5.2 innings for Manhattan, letting up five hits and striking out five. Kristo (4-4) earned the loss for the Jaspers.
