Riverdale, NY -
Junior Tyler Reynolds (Syracuse, NY / Harcum College) and freshman Samir Stewart (Fort Lauderdale, FL / American Heritage) combined for 42 points on the strength of 10 three pointers to lift Manhattan to a rousing 73-66 win over Rider.

Reynolds finished up with a career-high 23 points, six three pointers and a game-high seven rebounds while Stewart added 19 points and five assists as the Jaspers improve to 7-16 and 5-6 in the MAAC while Broncs fall to 12-10 and 7-3 in the league.

Sophomore Ebube Ebube (San Juan, Puerto Rico / Lawrenceville Academy (NJ)) added 10 points, five rebounds and six drawn offensive fouls.

Rider started strong in opening up a 17-10 lead with 14:03 to play in the opening stanza, and would extend the lead out to nine with just under six minutes to play following a Dimencio Vaughn three. However, Manhattan hung tough and would go into the break down just 35-31 following a Stewart three at the end of the half.
In the second, the Jaspers quickly reclaimed the lead at 42-40 following a half-opening 9-3 run that took just over three minutes.

The teams would trade punches before Rider claimed a 56-52 advantage with 9:28 remaining following a Frederick Scott dunk. The Broncs would have a chance to add to the lead, but misfired on the ensuing possession and Reynolds tipped in an errant shot while kick-starting a game-changing 12-0 spurt.
After another defensive stop, Ebube tied it up at 56-56 with a jumper before Reynolds got the fortuitous roll on a three pointer and Stewart followed suit with a triple of his own.
Sophomore Nehemiah Mack (Harrisburg, PA / Massanutten Prep) capped the run with a layup to give Manhattan an insurmountable 64-56 lead with less than five minutes to play.
Rider would trim the deficit to four on two occasions but get no closer as the Jaspers avenged an earlier 13-point setback to the Broncs.

Manhattan scored on six of its seven possessions during the game-changing spurt, and finished up 49.0 percent (25-of-51) from the floor, including 50.0 percent (12-of-24) from long range, while posting a 13-6 margin in second-chance points.

Vaughn had 22 points and eight rebounds to lead the way for the Broncs.

Manhattan will conclude its four-game homestand Friday against Siena at 7:00 pm.
