Buffalo, NY
– Adrien Awana (Bordeaux, France / University of Bordeaux) curled home his first goal of the season in the 50th minute, pushing Manhattan past host Canisius 2-1 at the Demske Sports Complex.

Awana's fifth career goal came off a set piece, as the senior confidently took and scored on a free kick from just outside the box to give Manhattan a 2-1 lead, that the Jaspers would hold for the remaining 40 minutes.

Julius Schoner scored the only goal for Canisius, as his 20th minute score gave the Golden Griffins a brief one-goal advantage.

Senior goalkeeper Marcellin Gohier (Nantes, France / CENS) made two saves to earn the win for the Jaspers.

Manhattan held a 15-9 advantage on shots, including seven shots on net compared to just three for the Golden Griffins. The Jaspers also earned a 2-1 advantage in corner kicks.
