Manhattan Returns Home For Two Matches

Riverdale, NY - Manhattan will host Rider on Wednesday, October 16 at 1:30 pm, before welcoming Siena on Saturday, October 19 at 12:00 pm. 

Senior Day Set For Saturday
* Prior to the Jaspers' match against Siena, Manhattan will recognize its seven-person senior class in a pregame ceremony.

Iona Recap & Notes
* Manhattan posted a 4-1 win over local rivial Iona last Wednesday, thanks in part to three second-half scores.
* The four scores were the most since a 6-0 win over Iona in the 2017 MAAC Tournament.
* Junior Arianna Montefusco notched a goal and an assist, while junior Bri DeLeo, classmate Shelby Jones and sophomore Eve Montgomery each recorded their second goals of the year.
* Junior Tia Painilainen also registered an assist on Jones' game-winning score.
* Sophomore Kim Mains made six saves in recording her first career win.
* Manhattan holds an all-time record of 16-9-5 in the all-time series with Iona.
* The Jaspers are undefeated in their last six matches (5-0-1) against the Gaels, while outscoring the visitors by a 23-3 margin during that time.
* The back-to-back scores from Jones and DeLeo mark the second time that Manhattan scored twice in less than a minute this year.

Scouting Rider
* The Broncs are one of the two remaining unbeaten teams in the MAAC and are 7-2-3 and 4-0-1 in the league.
* Sofia Soares (4 goals, 2 assists) and Makenzie Rodrigues (4 goals, 1 assist) pace the offense.
* Carmen Carbonell is one of the top netminders in the league, registering a 0.87 GAA and an .845 save percentage. 

History With The Broncs
* Manhattan holds an all-time record of 9-9-6 against Rider, including going 4-3-4 in Riverdale.
* In three of the last five match-ups the teams have played to a stalemate, including in each of the last two games at Gaelic Park.
* Senior Camryn Nici made five saves in a last year's one-goal loss, while classmate Olivia Printy made seven saves against the Broncs in 2017 and five in 2016.

Scouting Siena
* The Saints are 4-8-3 and 2-2-1 during MAAC play.
* Amber Alfonzo (3 goals, 1 assist) and Ashleigh Sarafin (3 goals) lead the way on offense for Siena.
* Taylor Dorado has a 1.33 GAA while recording a .796 save percentage.

Night Of Firsts At Monmouth
* Jones registered her first collegiate goal at Monmouth, with sophomore Olivia Maldonado collecting her first career assist.

Montgomery Paces The Offense Against Canisius
* Montgomery scored her first goal of the year and the second of her career against Canisius, with DeLeo earning her second career assist.

Multi-Goal Montefusco
* Montefusco scored a pair of goals in the Jaspers' final non-conference match at Merrimack.
* It was Montefusco's third career multi-goal performance with Manhattan, and her first since registering two in a 3-2 win over Quinnipiac in the semifinals of the 2017 MAAC Tournament. 

Montefusco On The Year
* After missing all of last year due to injury, Montefusco has a team-leading 12 points, on the strength of five goals (t-5th MAAC) and two assists.
* Montefusco, who is tied for second in the league with 1.0 point per game, drilled a penalty kick in the opener against Hartford, before blasting in the lone Jasper goal against Stony Brook.
* The Long Island native now has 16 career goals, including converting four penalty kicks.
* Manhattan is 9-3-1 when Montefusco finds the back of the net and 12-4-1 when she notches a point.

* Junior Gemma Perez and freshman Kaitlyn Cooke each collected their first career assists against Merrimack.

* Painilainen's blast in the 87th minute, which also was her second career goal, lifted the Jaspers to a 1-0 victory over the Terriers.
* Montefusco assisted on the score and has had a hand in all three Manhattan scores (2 goals, 1 assist) this year.
* Nici made two saves in collecting her third career shutout victory.
* The Jaspers posted advantages in shots (21-5), shots on goal (12-2) and corner kicks (5-0).

Nici In Net
* Nici has notched double-figures in saves twice this year, highlighted by a career-high 13 at Binghamton.
* At Hartford, she also denied a Hawk scoring opportunity on a penalty kick.

* The Jaspers are 31-2-4 over their last 37 matches when scoring first, dating back to the 2014 season.
