Manhattan Hits The Road For Two Matches

 Manhattan will hit the road for a pair of matches this week, starting with a 7:00 pm match-up on Wednesday, October 2 at three-time defending MAAC Champion Monmouth. The Jaspers will travel to Niagara on Saturday, October 5 with opening kick tabbed for 12:00 pm.

Scouting Monmouth
* The Hawks are 4-2-2, including a perfect 2-0-0 in the MAAC
* Monmouth is paced by the high-scoring trio of Lexie Palladino (3 goals, 1 assist), Madie Gibson (2 goals, 3 assists) and Dana Scheriff (2 goals, 2 assists).
* Amanda Knaub has a .889 save percentage and a 0.36 GAA.

History With Hawks
* Monmouth owns a 9-0 lead in the all-time series, including 7-0 since entering the MAAC in 2013.
* However, two of those games have been decided in overtime, including last year's 1-0 Hawk victory.
* Junior Arianna Montefusco notched an assist against MU in a one-goal setback in 2017.

With A Win Manhattan Would ...
* Be just the second-ever MAAC team to win league game at Monmouth (Marist - 2017).
* Collect a victory in West Long Branch for the first time since besting Rider 3-1 in the semifinals of the 2015 MAAC Tournament.

* Niagara holds a 15-8-4 edge in the all-time series.
* Head Coach Brendan Lawler is 4-4-1, all-time, against the Purple Eagles with each team scoring nine goals during that time.
* Last year, junior Bri DeLeo's goal off a penalty kick in the 105th minute lifted Manhattan to a thrilling 1-0 win.
* Senior Camryn Nici made five saves in earning the win.

* Sophomore Eve Montgomery scored her first goal of the year and the second of her career in the 44th minute.
* DeLeo earned her second career assist on the score.
* Montgomery, who earned her first collegiate assist against Stony Brook, and DeLeo each have three points (1 goal, 1 assist) on the year.
* Manhattan posted advantages in shots (10-6) and corner kicks (5-2), with each team registering four shots on goal.

Multi-Goal Montefusco
* Montefusco scored a pair of goals in the Jaspers' final non-conference match at Merrimack.
* It was Montefusco's third career multi-goal performance with Manhattan, and her first since registering two in a 3-2 win over Quinnipiac in the semifinals of the 2017 MAAC Tournament. 

Montefusco On The Year
* After missing all of last year due to injury, Montefusco has a team-leading nine points (6th MAAC), on the strength of four goals (4th MAAC) and an assist.
* Montefusco drilled a penalty kick in the opener against Hartford, before blasting in the lone Jasper goal against Stony Brook.
* The Long Island native now has 15 career goals, including converting three penalty kicks.
* Manhattan is 8-3-1 when Montefusco finds the back of the net and 11-4-1 when she notches a point.

DeLeo Finds The Back Of The Net
* DeLeo notched her first goal of the year and the fourth of her career at Merrimack.

* Junior Gemma Perez and freshman Kaitlyn Cooke each collected their first career assists against Merrimack.

Against St. Francis Brooklyn ...
* Junior Tia Painilainen's blast in the 87th minute, which also was her second career goal, lifted the Jaspers to a 1-0 victory over the Terriers.
* Montefusco assisted on the score and has had a hand in all three Manhattan scores (2 goals, 1 assist) this year.
* Nici made two saves in collecting her third career shutout victory.
* The Jaspers posted advantages in shots (21-5), shots on goal (12-2) and corner kicks (5-0).

Nici In Net
* Nici has notched double-figures in saves twice this year, highlighted by a career-high 13 at Binghamton.
* At Hartford, she also denied a Hawk scoring opportunity on a penalty kick.
