Early in the second half, the Broncs scored eight-straight points to open up their biggest lead of the night at 46-32 with 12:13 remaining, only to see Manhattan quickly respond. Hinckson converted a pair of layups before finding Reynolds for a corner triple to slice the lead in half to seven with 8:28 remaining.
Unfortunately, Rider answered on the ensuing possession to thwart the visitors' momentum, as the Jaspers would cut it to seven on two more occasions but were unable to get any closer.

The Broncs shot 42.3 percent (22-of-52) from the floor, including 45.0 percent (9-of-20) from deep, while posting a 37-33 advantage on the glass.

In the opening stanza, Rider used a 13-2 spurt in gaining the early 20-9 advantage with less than seven minutes until halftime.

Manhattan would answer by knocking down five of its next six shots in trimming the deficit to 27-23 with 1:27 until intermission following a pair of Samir Stewart (Fr., Fort Lauderdale, FL / American Heritage) free throws.

The Broncs responded by converting on their final two possessions in posting a 31-23 advantage at the break.

Dimencio Vaughn led both teams with 16 points and nine rebounds off the bench.

Rider improves to 10-7 and 5-0 in the MAAC while Manhattan falls to 4-14 and 2-4 in the league.

The Jaspers will next be in action against Marist on Monday, January 21 at 7:00 pm.
