Riverdale, NY - After a win against Big East foe St. John's on April 26, Manhattan softball returns to Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) play with a Saturday doubleheader against Marist starting at noon. The Jaspers are then back at home for a two-game match-up with Iona on Sunday, also starting at 12 p.m.
With a 6-6 record, Marist sits in the middle of the MAAC standings, with wins over third-ranked Iona, fourth-place Fairfield, and Quinnipiac, currently in fifth. The Red Foxes sit in the league's top five for team batting average (.247) and third in total hits (271). Marist has hit a total of 19 home runs this season, good for fifth in the conference.
On the mound, Marist has the fifth-lowest ERA in the league at 3.73, and the Red Foxes hold opposing batters to a .264 batting average. They lead the MAAC in team fielding percentage at .969.
