Riverdale, NY – Sitting just one game back of a spot in the 2018 MAAC Tournament, Manhattan (5-10 | 2-5 MAAC) hopes to reach the playoffs for the first time since 2009 as it hosts Fairfield (9-6 | 5-2 MAAC) on Wednesday, April 25 at 6:00 pm.

The game will be streamed live courtesy of the Jasper Sports Network and will also be supplemented with live stats, which can be found in the link above.

THE SCENARIO

Manhattan sits one game behind sixth-place Iona (8-8 | 3-4 MAAC) heading into the final day of the regular season. The Jaspers need the Gaels to lose to Monmouth (7-9 | 5-2 MAAC) earlier in the day and then defeat the Stags to force a tie. Manhattan owns the head-to-head tiebreaker over Iona thanks to an 8-7 victory back on April 11.

If the Gaels win and/or the Jaspers fall, Manhattan will be eliminated from postseason contention.

Fairfield, Marist, Canisius, Niagara and Monmouth have all clinched spots in the tournament, but are all tied for the best conference record at 5-2.

WITH A WIN…

The Jaspers would have its most conference wins since 2009 … Manhattan would have its first victory over Fairfield since 2007 … The Kelly Green and White will have its most home wins since 2013.

IRON WOMAN

By suiting up for the final game of the regular season, senior co-captain Kara Hodapp will have played 66 games in the Kelly Green and White, which would be tied for fourth-most amongst all Jaspers. In the first 65 matches, Hodapp has totaled 61 goals, 27 assists and 88 points.

Two-time MAAC champion goalkeeper Ashley Devins '07 holds the record with 68 appearances. Victoria Carman '05 and Stefanie Ranagan '16 are tied for second at 67 contests.

MONITORING MOLLY'S MILESTONES

As she continues her push through the Manhattan record books, junior Molly Fitzpatrick closes in on multiple milestones.

The Yorktown, NY native is one goal shy of entering the top 10 in program history, and is one assist away from sole possession of fourth place on that list.

With 126 points across her three-year career, Fitzpatrick is two points from moving into sixth place on the all-time points list.

KAISHIAN IN CONTROL

Junior Emma Kaishian has excelled in numerous defensive categories, recording 33 ground balls, 20 caused turnovers and 57 draw controls. On top of being the first Jasper in the last eight years to cause at least 20 turnovers, she is also the first since Keri Morrison '10 in 2009 to collect at least 30 ground balls, 30 draw controls and 20 caused turnovers in a season.

This year, Kaishian ranks sixth in the MAAC with 3.80 draw controls per game and seventh with 1.33 caused turnovers a contest.

HOME IN THE CAGE

Junior goalkeeper Nikki Prestiano is averaging nine saves per game in her last four home matchups and has registered 7.14 stops per game at Gaelic Park in 2018.

SCOUTING THE STAGS

Fairfield has won two straight on the road, beating Iona and Canisius by three goals each. The 2017 MAAC runner-up is playing its fourth game in 11 days.

Senior Brenna Connolly headlines the Fairfield attack with 60 points and is one of three Stags with 28 goals. Junior Erin Mammele is a force on the draw, with a program-record 96 draw controls this season. Reigning MAAC Defensive and Rookie of the Week Paulina DiFatta sports a 9.98 goals-against average with 159 saves.

Manhattan and Fairfield will meet for the 24th time on Wednesday. The Stags have an 18-5 advantage in the series, including a 14-6 win over the Jaspers in last season's finale. Senior co-captain Sarah Lang tallied four goals, while Fitzpatrick dished out three assists.
