West Point, NY -
Manhattan dropped a doubleheader to Army West Point by scores of 2-1 and 3-2 in non-conference action at Doubleday Field.

The Jaspers fall to 16-15 while the Black Knights improve to 18-14.

Game Two
Army West Point jumped out to early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first before freshman Matt Padre (Flemington, NJ / Hunterdon Central) blasted his first career home run to tie it up in the top of the second.

Manhattan then claimed its first advantage of the game with a single run in the top of the third. Senior Paul Genners (Jacksonville, FL / Stanton College Prep) doubled with one out before advancing to third on a ground out. Genners would later come around to score on a wild pitch to give the visitors as 2-1 advantage.

The lead would be short-lived as the Black Knights tied it up at 2-2 in the bottom part of the frame.

The Jaspers had a chance to again jump in front in the top of the fourth but junior Richie Barrella (Larchmont, NY / Canterbury Prep) was gunned out at the plate on a failed double steal.

Army West Point would reclaim the lead in the bottom of the fifth with a single run.

Manhattan put together a rally in the top of the sixth as Barrella and Padre each singled with one but unfortunately neither wouldn't advance any further.

Padre was 2-for-3 with a home run while Barrella reached base safely twice to pace a five-hit Jasper attack

Junior RHP Joe DiTorrice (Montgomery, NJ / Montgomery) was the tough-luck losing pitcher, yielding one run over 3.0 hitless innings with two strikeouts.

Jon Rosoff was 1-for-2 with two RBI to lead the way for the Black Knights.

RHP Mike Gagliardi earned the win, striking out five over 5.0 innings while yielding two runs on three hits.

Game One
Army West Point rallied for a 2-1 win over Manhattan in game one thanks to a pair of sixth-inning runs.

In earning a no-decision, junior RHP Joe DiNizio (Middlesex, NJ / Middlesex) struck out four while scattering three hits over 5.0 scoreless frames.

Junior Fabian Pena (Miami, FL / Calusa Prep) opened the scoring in the top of the fifth with a two-out, solo home run.

The Black Knights would rally with two runs in the bottom of the sixth in recording the victory.

Pena went 2-for-3 with his team-leading fifth home run while graduate student Matt Forlow (Cold Spring, NY / Haldane) and sophomore Alex Cerda (Miami, FL / Florida Christian Prep) each doubled to lead the way on offense for the Jaspers.

Rosoff went 2-for-3 with a double, triple, run and RBI while John McKenna was 2-for-3 with a double, run and a RBI to pace Army West Point.
