Poughkeepsie, NY - Marist posted a 12-4 win over Manhattan in MAAC action at Tenney Stadium.

The Jaspers fall to 3-6 and 0-2 in the MAAC while the Red Foxes improve to 2-8 and 1-1 in the league.

Freshman Sean MacKinney (Martinsville, NJ / Bridgewater-Raritan) opened the scoring with at man-up goal off a Luke Hanson (So., Middletown, NY / Minisink Valley) pass at the 8:10 mark of the first quarter before Marist responded with two quick goals. Junior William Ratchford (Mountain Lakes, NJ / Mountain Lakaes) then tied it up off following a nice feed from classmate Parker Giarratana (Delray, FL / Boca Raton Community) in making a 2-2 game.

The Red Foxes would respond with three-straight scores before junior Cole Johnson (Dexter, NY / General Brown) snapped the Marist spurt with a man-up goal off another Hanson pass to trim the deficit to 5-3 with 11:14 to play in the third period.

Unfortunately, that would be as close as Manhattan would get as Marist opened up a 12-3 advantage with just over eight minutes to play in the fourth quarter.

Sophomore Brandon Grinnell (Wakefield, MA / Wakefield Memorial) quelled the spurt with a late man-up goal off a Hanson feed to provide the final 12-4 tally.

Between the pipes, junior Michael Zingaro (Cortlandt Manor, NY / Walter Panas) made 11 saves in net while Hanson had three assists to lead the way on offense.

Jason Intermesoli had three goals and an assist to pace Marist while Brian Corrigan made 17 stops to earn the victory.

Manhattan returns to action at NJIT on Saturday, March 31 with opening faceoff slated for 4:00 pm.
