Victoria Ross (Bloomfield, NJ / Bloomfield) stepped up to the plate with the bases still loaded. She doubled to left center, good for three RBIs, turning the tide for the Jaspers and giving Manhattan a 7-5 lead.Â
Manhattan then took care of business in the bottom of inning, as the Hatters stepped up for last licks.
Nicole Williams (Ansonia, CT / St. Joseph's), pitching in relief for starter Matazinsky, faced just four batters, holding them to zero hits.Â
In four innings pitched, winning pitcher Williams gave up no hits and no runs, walking just two. As a team, the Jaspers compiled seven runs on seven hits. Matazinsky went 2-2 from the plate, including her first triple of the season, with three RBIs. Her game-high RBI total was matched only by Ross, who went 1-2 in the game.Â
