Manhattan Welcomes VMI In Home Opener

After playing its first two games of the year on the road, Manhattan (0-2) will welcome VMI (0-0) to Gaelic Park on Saturday, February 17 at 1:00 pm.

KREBS IN THE CAGE
Freshman Brendan Krebs made his first career start against Wagner and collected 10 saves after recording seven in the opener at Bryant.

SCHARF ATTACK
Sophomore CJ Scharf netted his first goal of the season against Wagner after registering 24-points in his rookie campaign.

GIARRATANA LEADING THE WAY
Junior Parker Giarratana handed out a pair of assists at Wagner after scoring two goals at Bryant and paces the squad with four points. For his career, Giarratana now has 62 goals and 25 assists.

MMMBop
Sophomore Luke Hanson has matched Giarratana with two goals and two assists.

NEW TURF
Manhattan will play on a brand-new turf that was installed before the 2017-2018 academic year. The JSN spoke with senior Michael Zingaro about the new field.
 

SCOUTING THE KEYDETS
VMI is playing its season opener. The Keydets were picked eighth in the SoCon Preseason Poll. Defender Kyle Walsh was named to the 2018 All-SoCon Preseason Team.

BACK TO MAAC
The Keydets and the Jaspers renew a rivalry of former MAAC foes. The two teams last played in 2013.

THE SERIES
Manhattan holds a 10-4 advantage in the all-time series, last winning by a 16-10 count on March 26, 2011. 

OLD DOMINION
VMI is one of two opponents Manhattan will host form the state of Virginia. ACC powerhouse University of Virginia visits Riverdale on Wednesday, March 7.

Manhattan hits the road once again to duel Lafayette on Tuesday, February 20 at 7:00 pm.
