Manhattan improves to 2-5 on the year, while Lafayette drops to 4-4.
Highlights:
- Sophomore guard Lizahya Morgan (East Hartford, CT / Capital Preparatory Magnet) scored a career-high 14 points for the Jaspers, going 4-7 and 2-2 from three-point range. She added three assists and three steals, both for game-highs (tied).
- Candela Abejon (Gijon, Spain / USC) and Kania Pollock (Queens, NY / The Mary Louis Academy) also scored in double-figures for Manhattan. Abejon put in 11, including three baskets from beyond the arc, while freshman Pollock nabbed 10 points, her best scoring performance so far in her collegiate career.
- Courtney Warley (West Chester, PA / Bishop Shanahan) led Manhattan on the boards, pulling down a game-high 10, her third double-figure rebounding performance of the season. She added three assists and two steals on the stat line.
- In addition to crashing the boards, Manhattan also produced four team blocks, while the Leopards came up with none. And, while the Leopards held a 24-18 advantage in the paint, Manhattan earned 12 second-chance points in the game.
- While both teams struggled with turnovers (each totaling 24 as a team), Manhattan was able to turn Lafayette's missteps to its advantage, scoring 27 points off turnovers.
- The Jaspers held the lead for nearly the entire 40 minutes, overcoming a four-point Lafayette advantage early in the first quarter to finish the opening period up 14-6. Manhattan led 35-24 at halftime, and extended the lead to 19 midway through the third.
- Manhattan faltered offensively in the fourth, scoring just seven points while allowing 13 from Lafayette, but the Jaspers were able to control the ball and the tempo throughout the final period, holding off a Lafayette run.
- Manhattan compiled 12 steals as a team against Lafayette, the fifth time this season the Jaspers have notched double-figure steals in a game.

The Jaspers will host the 2018 Manhattan Classic starting Friday, December 7 at Draddy.
