Riverdale, NY - Sophomore
Bri DeLeo (Harriman, NY / Monroe-Woodbury) converted a penalty kick in the 105th minute to propell Manhattan to a thrilling 1-0 double-overtime win against Niagara.
The Jaspers improve to 3-5-2 and 2-2-1 in the MAAC while the Purple Eagles fall to 7-5-1 and 3-2-1 in the league.
DeLeo's second goal was set up when senior
Victoria Reis (Rockville Centre, NY / South Side) blasted a ball that was deflected off the hand of a Niagara defender, thus resulting in the aforementioned penalty kick.
Junior
Camryn Nici (Seaford, NY / St. Anthony's) made five saves in collecting her second-straight shutout victory.
Niagara had a chance to win it at the end of regulation only to be denied when Kelsey Araujo's shot banged off the crossbar.

NOTES
* The overtime victory was the first for Manhattan since the Jaspers won at Quinnipiac by the same 1-0 score on October 14, 2015.
* Nici's second-straight shutout also marked the first time that a Manhattan goalie registered back-to-back clean sheets since Kristen Skonieczny notched four-straight during the 2015 season.
* The win was the 30th for the senior class, including the 18th during MAAC play.
* After the game a check was presented for $7,000 to the Jack Mattsson Foundation. Mattsson, a longtime friend of senior
Caroline Taylor (Glen Rock, NJ / Glen Rock), was a 19 year old college student who had just finished his freshman year at college when he was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, an aggressive bone cancer, before passing away last October. The foundation supports cancer research, helps patient families with financial support and works with schools to promote anti-bullying programs. Click
