Riverdale, NY -
Manhattan battled Quinnipiac to a 1-1 double-overtime draw in its final match of the year at Gaelic Park.

Sophomore Tia Painilainen (Espoo, Finland / Arizona) netted her first career goal in the 19th minute off an Annie Doerr (Sr., Pittsford, NY / Our Lady of Mercy) assist to open the scoring.
The Bobcats would battle back to tie it up in 34th minute when Hannah Reiter headed the ball into the back of the net.

After halftime, the Jaspers appeared poised to reclaim the lead in the 78th minute. Manhattan pushed the ball down the left side and had a window, but Doerr's shot from just in front of the net sailed high.

Quinnipiac had a chance to take its first lead in the 88th minute, but was denied when Gretchen Kron's shot was blocked by sophomore Gemma Perez (Park Ridge, NJ / Paramus Catholic).

In overtime, senior Kelly DiGregorio (Centereach, NY / St. Anthony's) cleared out an attempt in the 100th minute before Perez made another big block in the 105th minute to thwart the last major scoring opportunity of the match.

DiGregorio made seven saves, including turning away a pair of point-blank opportunities after halftime.
