Manhattan (3-18, 2-7 MAAC) now ties the Bobcats and Saint Peter's for seventh place in the MAAC standings. Quinnipiac falls to 3-16 on the year.
Highlights:
- After losing the first set 21-25 to Quinnipiac, the Jaspers won three straight to take the match, going 25-22, 25-23, and 25-17.
- This is the first three-match winning streak for the Jaspers since they defeated Saint Peter's (twice) and Quinnipiac in a three-match week that spanned October 16-22, 2016.
- The Jaspers tallied 49 kills against the Bobcats on Saturday, a season-high for the team. They compiled a .184 hitting percentage to Quinnipiac's .082.
- Manhattan also totaled a season-high 46 assists, with freshman setter Shruti Mangipudi (San Ramon, CA / Doughtery Valley) posting a career-high 41 against the Bobcats. Her 5.87 assists per set average ranks her 10th in the MAAC.
- Freshman Vivian Donovan (Newport Beach / Newport Harbor), who led the Jaspers' October 10 match vs. St. Francis Brooklyn with a career-high 18 kills, found herself to be the match-leader again Saturday, totaling 14. This is Donovan's sixth-straight match with double-digit kills. Senior Sandra Lozanova (Pernik, Bulgaria / Fresno State) added 10, her second-consecutive 10-kill match.
- The Jaspers nabbed nine service aces in the match, with Lozanova contributing four. Lozanova, Donovan, and Samantha Wagner (Sandy, UT / Hofstra) all rank in the league's top 10 for service aces per set.
- Senior libero Alyssa Rehrer (Lorton, VA / South County) earned a match-high 24 digs against the Bobcats, just two off of her season-high. She now has 306 for the season, averaging 4.37 per set played and ranking fourth in the MAAC. Her career total climbs to 1,354, putting her just 73 digs away from fifth-place in program, a spot currently held by Diane Strutner, who played for Manhattan from 2007-10.
- As a team, Manhattan earned nine total blocks on Saturday, with Donovan and sophomore middle blocker Erin Hoener (St. Louis, MO / Incarnate Word) totaling a match-high five. This is Hoener's third five-block performance of the season, while it was a career-high for Donovan. Senior Kenza Hall (Oakland, CA / Middle Tennessee State) added four blocks.
- Quinnipiac's Maggie Baker led the Bobcats with 10 kills, while her teammate Kaleigh Oats earned five blocks, tying Donovan and Hoener for the match-high.
Manhattan returns to Draddy Sunday, October 14 to play reigning MAAC Champion Fairfield at 1:00 pm.
