Niagara University, NY – Niagara defeated Manhattan by a 2-0 score in the Jaspers' MAAC opener at Niagara Field.
In defeat, the visitors fall to 2-5-1 while the Purple Eagles improve to 5-3-1 and 1-1 in the MAAC.
In the 45th minute, Niagara struck first when Courtney Betts found the back of the net off a Bayley Sullivan cross.
After halftime, the Purple Eagles would add to the lead in the 68th minute when Sophie Connor scored off a Breanne Guevara cross.
Sophomore Olivia Printy (Ponte Vedra Beach, FL / St. Joseph's Academy) made five saves in goal in relief of junior Kelly DiGregorio (Centerreach, NY / St. Anthony's).

- Niagara posted advantages in shots (12-10), shots on goal (7-4) and corners (6-3).
- Sophomore Arianna Montefusco (Levittown, NY / General Douglas MacArthur) notched three shots, including one on goal, and freshman Lindsey Healy (Sussex, NJ / Pope John XXIII Regional) fired two shots on goal to pace the Manhattan offense.
- Shania van Nuland made four saves in earning the shutout victory for the Purple Eagles.
- Today's match marked the third time in four years that the Jaspers have opened MAAC play against Niagara.
- The Purple Eagles snapped a two-game skid to Manhattan while improving to 15-7-4 in the all-time series.
