Riverdale, NY - Quinnipiac posted a 12-6 win over Manhattan thanks to four goals from Brian Feldman.
The Bobcats improve to 2-6 and 1-2 in the league while the Jaspers fall to 2-8 and 0-3 in the MAAC.
Junior Parker Giarratana (Delray, FL / Boca Raton Community) and freshman CJ Scharf (West Islip, NY / West Islip) each scored twice while freshman Brandon Grinnell (Wakefield, MA / Wakefield Memorial) added two assists to pace Manhattan on offense.
Quinnipiac opened the scoring with back-to-back goals en route to jumping out to a 4-1 advantage before Scharf found the back of the net off a pass from classmate Luke Hanson (Middletown, NY / Minisink Valley) in trimming the deficit to 4-2 after one.
Giarratana then made it a one-goal game with his second score of the game off a pass from Scharf in slicing the visitors' advantage to 4-3 with 9:14 until halftime.
Unfortunately, the Bobcats responded with back-to-back goals in opening up a 6-3 advantage at the break.
After halftime, Schaef, sophomore William Ratchford (Mountain Lakes, NY / Mountain Lakes) and freshman Trevor Pelletier (Miami, FL / Gulliver Prep) all found the back of the net but it wasn't enough as Quinnipiac posted the aforementioned 12-6 victory.
Junior Frank Merrill (Mountain Lakes, NJ / Mountain Lakes) had five ground balls while classmate Michael Zingaro (Cortlandt Manor, NY / Walter Panas) made 14 saves in rounding out the top statistical performers on defense for the Jaspers.
At halftime, Manhattan recognized its 2002 Men's Lacrosse MAAC Championship squad with a ceremony at midfield.
The Jaspers return to action at Siena on Saturday, April 8 with opening face-off slated for 3:00 pm.
