Jaspers Finish Competition Between Pace, Saint Peter’s

Manhattan Women's Swimming and Diving split the meet against Pace and Saint Peter's on Saturday evening, defeating the Peacocks while falling to the Setters.
 
The Jaspers posted 177 points against Saint Peter's in the one-day meet, their highest point total in the young season.
 
Manhattan placed second in 11 events. Freshman Kaitlyn Moreschi (Hollywood, FL / Fort Lauderdale) highlighted the event thanks to a first-place finish in the 200 Yard Breaststroke, winning in 2:30.57. The rookie also contributed to second-place marks in the 100 Yard Breaststroke and 200 Yard Medley relay.
 
Senior Alexandra Hutzler (Miller Place, NY / Miller Place) placed second in four different events. Individually, she timed 1:02.98 in the 100 Yard Butterfly and 2:23.00 in the 200 Yard Butterfly. She was the third leg in the 400 Yard Freestyle relay that swam in 3:58.04.
 
Sophomore Kali Nembach (Lynbrook, NY / Lynbrook) placed in four different events, including anchoring the 200 Yard Medley and leading 400 Yard Freestyle relays. Her 26.18-second time in the 50 Yard Freestyle was good for second place, and she was Manhattan's top finished in the 100 Yard Freestyle at 57.85 seconds.
 
On the men's side, the Jaspers were beaten by Pace and Saint Peter's. Sophomore Timothy Valentine (Massapequa, NY / Chaminade) took home first in the 100 Yard Breastroke in 1:00.30 and second in the 200 Yard Breaststroke in 2:14.66.
 
In the 400 Yard IM, sophomore Tyler Dalton (East Stroudsburg, PA / Pocono Mountain East) swam 4:23.58 to capture second place. Senior Tyler McCloskey (Orangeburg, NY / Tappan Zee) finished third in the 200 Yard Butterfly at 2:04.23.
 
The Jaspers return to action on Saturday, November 18 when both squads head down to West Long Branch, NJ to battle Monmouth in a MAAC showdown. In addition, the women's side will compete against Siena. The meet is expected to begin at 1:00 pm.
