Loudonville, NY – Manhattan scored twice in the first 11 minutes of the game to defeat Siena 3-1 Saturday afternoon at Siena Turf Field.
With the win, the Jaspers snap a three-game losing streak to improve to 8-7-0 and 5-3-0 in conference play. The Saints fall to 3-5-7 overall and 1-2-4 in MAAC competition.
Manhattan set the tone 98 seconds in when senior

Troy Carrington (Verona, NJ / Syracuse), who beat his defender 1-on-1 and scored to make it a 2-0 advantage.
Siena cut the deficit in half in the 24th minute when Danillo Markovic deposited a penalty kick for his first goal of the season.
With less than five minutes to go in the first half, Siena's Scott Williams was issued a red card and sent off. Manhattan played man-up for the rest of the match.
Seven minutes out of halftime, Da Silva attempted to increase the lead to two with a header that floated wide. In the 63rd minute, Da Silva capitalized with a 4-on-3 opportunity. He streaked down the middle of the field and finished the pass from Carsley to make it 3-1 Jaspers.
Carsley almost potted his fourth goal of the year late in the contest. He fired a shot in the 75th minute, but Siena's Josh Weiss made the save. Carsley had another attempt 1:39 later but was denied by the crossbar. He had one last opportunity with eight minutes to go that was ultimately blocked.

- Manhattan's eight wins are the most in a single season since 1991. The three road wins are the most since 2002.
- Froehle's goal at 5:40 was the quickest goal the Jaspers have scored this season.
- This was the 10th game of the season that Manhattan scored first.
- This was the fourth multi-goal game of the season for the Jaspers and the first since October 4 against Saint Peter's.
