Riverdale, NY – Junior Zane Waterman (Winston-Salem, NC/Fayetteville Academy) registered a career-high 26 points and eight rebounds for the Manhattan but it wasn't enough as Fairfield posted a 97-79 win at Draddy Gymnasium.


In defeat, the Jaspers fall to 5-10 and 0-4 in the MAAC while the Stags improve to 8-5 and 3-1 in the league.

Freshman Aaron Walker Jr. (Brooklyn, NY / Cardozo) added 14 points, while classmate Na'Quan Council (Blackwood, NJ / Scotland Performance (PA)) and senior Tyler Wilson (Bronx, NY / Cardinal Hayes) tallied 10 points apiece. Sophomore Ak Ojo (Lagos, Nigeria / Cardinal Hayes) grabbed a team-high seven rebounds to pace the defense.

Fairfield was led by Curtis Cobb, who tied the MAAC single-game record with 46 points. Tyler Nelson added 16 points and seven assists for the Stags, while Jonathan Kasibabu posted 13 points, nine rebounds and five blocks.

Manhattan returns to action on Saturday at 2:00 pm at Quinnipiac (5-9, 2-2 MAAC) in a game that will be televised by SNY.
