The Jaspers fall to 8-15 and 3-9 in the MAAC while the Golden Griffins improve to 13-9 and 6-5 in the league.

Canisius opened up a 34-24 lead at the break thanks to shooting 60.0 percent (12-of-20) from the floor, including 55.6 percent (5-of-9) from long range. The Jaspers were able to stay in the game thanks to forcing 12 turnovers that led to 10 points.
After halftime, Manhattan hit four of their first six shots to draw to within six at 39-33 at the 17-minute mark following a Waterman layup only to see the Golden Griffins respond with a pair of buckets to stretch the lead back to double-figures.
The Jaspers would trim the deficit to single-digits on eight more occasions but were unable to get any closer than eight points the rest of the way.
Canisius was led by the trio of Phil Valenti (22), Kassius Robertson (18) and Jermaine Crumpton and shot a robust 56.8 percent (25-of-44), including 47.1 percent (8-of-17) from deep.
Manhattan made good on an impressive 95.0 percent (19-of-20) from the line while senior Tyler Wilson (Bronx, NY / Cardinal Hayes) did a good job of facilitating the offense with four assists, against just one turnover.
The Jaspers conclude their three-game road trip at Fairfield on Tuesday, January 31 with opening tip tabbed for 7:00 pm.
