Saint Joseph's Defeats Manhattan

Philadelphia, PA - Manhattan closed out its season-opening four-game road trip with a 16-9 loss at Saint Joseph's.

In defeat the Jaspers fall to 0-4 while the Hawks improve to 1-1.

Freshman Christian Baldi (Wilmington, DE / Salesianum) led the Manhattan effort with three goals. Junior Alex Abiog (Saratoga, CA / Bellarmine College Prep) also notched a pair of scores while junior Matt Garvey (Essex Fells, NJ / West Essex) recorded three assists and a goal to round out the top offensive performers for the Jaspers.

Down 15-5 in the fourth quarter, Manhattan closed the game strong in registering four of the final five goals with Baldi finding the back of the net on the final two scores.

Sophomore Michael Zingaro (Cortland Manor, NY / Walter Panas) made 11 saves with three ground balls between the pipes for the Jaspers.

Kyle Cain paced Saint Joseph's with five goals and an assist.

Manhattan hosts Hartford on Saturday, March 5 with opening faceoff slated for 2:30 pm.
