Manhattan Falls At Robert Morris

Moon Township, PA - Robert Morris broke open what was a close game with 10 goals in the decisive in the third period en route to posting a 19-6 win over Manahttan in non-conference action at Joe Walton Stadium.

In defeat, the Jaspers fall to 0-3 with the Colonials improving to 1-2.

Robert Morris scored the first three goals of the game only to see Manhattan answer with a goal from junior Matt Garvey (Essex Fells, NJ / West Essex) off a feed from reigning MAAC Rookie of the Week Parker Giarratana. (Fr., Delray, FL / Boca Raton Community).

The Jaspers then trimmed the deficit to 3-2 early in the second quarter when sophomore Chris Sammarro (Mountain Lakes, NY / Mountain Lakes) assisted on a goal to freshman Christian Baldi (Wilmington, DE / Salesianum).

The Colonials responded with three-straight goal before freshman Cole Johnson (Dexter, NY / General Brown) found the back of the net with 19 seconds to play until halftime off a pass from Giarratana.

After halftime, Robert Morris ripped off an 11-1 run in extending its advantage out to an insurmountable 17-4 margin.

Baldi and Garvey added goals in the fourth quarter en route to each player with finishing with two goals while Giarratana added three assists to round out the top performers for Manhattan.

Sophomore Michael Zingaro (Cortland Manor, NY / Walter Panas) made 11 saves between the pipes for the Jaspers.

Luke Laszkiewicz and Eddie Smith each scored four goals to pace the Colonials.

Manhattan returns to action on Saturday, February 27 at Saint Joseph's with opening faceoff slated for 12:00 am.
