The Jaspers outrebounded the Owls by a 37-29 count, winning the battle of the boards for the fourth-straight game to open the season. Manhattan also posted an 18-8 advantage on the offensive end, leading to a 24-0 advantage on second-chance points.
In the opening stanza, the teams played to a 15-15 deadlock over the first 11-plus minutes of the half before Temple ended the period with a 24-5 run in taking a 39-20 lead into the break.
