Riverdale, NY - Fueled by a high-powered offense, Manhattan rallied for a thrilling 2-1 win over Saint Peter's at Gaelic Park.

With the victory, the Jaspers improve to 1-9-1 and 1-3 in the MAAC while the Peacocks fall to 2-8-2 and 1-3 in the league.

From the onset, the Manhattan offense was in attack mode as the Jaspers outshot their visitors by a whopping 27-10 count.

Despite the overwhelming offensive disparity it was Saint Peter's that struck first in the 45th minute as Luke Fairlamb netted his team-leading fifth goal from the right side off a pass from Michael Crentsil.

After halftime, Manhattan kept attacking and in 65th minute finally broke through when senior Tarek Beckles blasted the ball home from the right side off a Leonard Sohn (Fr., Richmond Hill, Ontario / Bill Crothers Secondary) cross.

The Jaspers kept attacking and took their first lead of the night in the 80th minute when senior Niels Kirch (Zülpich, Germany / Virginia Tech) fired a long ball that junior Troy Carrington (Verona, NJ / Syracuse) was able to corral and deposit into the net on an off-balance strike.

Over the final 10 minutes, Manhattan continued to be the aggressor and very well could have added to the lead had it not been for the outstanding play of Peacock goalie Jamie Cleland, who finished with seven saves on the night.

Sophomore Connor Hayes (El Dorado Hills, CA / Oak Ridge) was equally impressive and made one save in registering his first career win.

The Jaspers will look to make it two in a row on Wednesday, October 12 when they host defending MAAC Champion Rider at 7:00 pm.
