Manhattan Swims Past Hunter 54-39

New York, NY - Bolstered by six individual winners, Manhattan evened its record at 6-6 with a 54-39 win over Hunter.

Junior Sara Buckley (East Setauket, N.Y.), sophomore Alexandra Hutzler (Miller Place, N.Y. / Miller Place) and freshman Morgan Fountain (Cheshire, Conn. / Cheshire) each won an event while combining to help the Jaspers capture the 200-medley relay en route to sharing Performer of the Meet honors.

The trio combined with Megan Pagano (LaGrangeville, N.Y. / Arlington) to win the aforementioned 200-medley relay in a time of 1:58.58.

Fountain claimed the 200-freestyle in 2:08.74 by over six seconds as Buckley took the 50-freestyle in 26.76 and Hutzler the 200-Individual Medley in 2:19.87 by over five seconds.

Freshman Kathryn Voitik (Moscow, Pa. / Scranton) claimed the 1000-freestyle in 11:16.63 while junior Patricia Colton (Washingtonville, N.Y. / Washingtonville) won the 100-freestyle with a mark of 58.95. Senior Michaela Schatz (Tuscan, Ariz. / Salpointe Catholic) rounded out the winners for Manhattan with a mark of 1:05.93 in the 100-backstroke.

The Jaspers return to action at St. Francis Brooklyn on Sunday, January 31 at 1:00 pm.
