Easton, PA - Junior Erica Modena (Massapequa, NY / Massapequa) notched her first career hat trick to lead Manhattan to a decisive 3-0 victory over Lafayette in non-conference action.

The Jaspers, which posted their third-straight shutout, improve to 4-1 while the Leopards fall to 3-1.

Modena, who now leads the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) with five goals, scored in the 10th, 22nd and 62nd minutes to provide the offense for Manhattan, which has now won three-straight road matches for the first time since the 2006 campaign.

Additionally, the Jasper defense has not allowed a goal in seven-straight halves of action.

Modena scored what would prove to be the eventual game winner in the 10th minute when she took a through ball at midfield and outran the defense before finishing on the left side. She recorded goal number two off a pass from freshman Nicole Copping (Blue Point, NY / Bayport-Blue Point) before capping the first Manhattan hat trick in two years off a pass from sophomore Dylan Burns (Manchester, CT / Manchester).

The Jaspers continue their five-match road trip on Friday, September 11 at Columbia with first kick slated for 7:30 pm.
