RIVERDALE, N.Y. - Manhattan dropped a hard-fought 1-0 decision to Lehigh in non-conference action at Gaelic Park.

The Jaspers had a chance to tie it with less than 10 seconds remaining, but senior Abraham Bartoah's (New Haven, Conn. / Monroe) free kick from 25 yards out on the right side went wide left.

With the victory, the Mountain Hawks improve to 2-1 while the Jaspers fall to 0-2.

Following the match, head coach Jorden Scott discussed the contest with the JSN.

Manhattan was the aggressor in the opening stanza and nearly opened the scoring when Dahrius Waldron (Manchester, England / Loreto) blasted a ball from 30 yards out that hit the crossbar before nearly bouncing over the line in the 12th minute.

Following the match, Waldron spoke with the JSN about his debut outing with the squad.

With the teams still locked in a scoreless tie, Jamie Luchini broke through in the 52nd minute, taking a long pass along the left side before firing a rocket into the top left corner just past R.J. Noll (Yelm, Wash. / Yelm). The strike provided what proved to be the game-winning goal.

The Jaspers missed a golden opportunity in the 87th minute as freshman Grant Elgin (Franklin Lakes, N.J. / Ramapo) had his shot blocked to the right side of the goal before freshman Adam Weisberger's (Englishtown, N.J. / Manalapan) follow-up shot sailed high.

Joe Bogan (2-1) earned the win for the Mountain Hawks, making two saves.

Manhattan will look for its first win of the young season on Monday, September 7, at Binghamton, when the two sides square off at 7 p.m.
