Columbia netted what would prove to be the only goal of the match in the 15th minute as Rachel Alexander scored on a header from the left side off a perfect cross from Holly Neshat. The score was the first allowed by the Manhattan defense in 343 minutes of action dating back to the Fordham match on August 28.

After putting just one shot on goal in the opening stanza, the visitors were the aggressors in the second half. The Jaspers did not allow a shot on goal and played most of the half in the Columbia zone but were denied on all four shots on goal.
