PLYMOUTH MEETING, Pa. - Christian Santisteban drove in three runs as the Jaspers defeated Villanova 6-4 in the final game of the teams' three-game series on Sunday afternoon.

The Jaspers struck first in the first inning, then Villanova plated a first-inning run of its own. Manhattan went ahead to stay, 4-1 in the second inning. One run came across on Jose Carrera's RBI single, then Santisteban drove in a pair with a run-scoring single of his own.

The Wildcats scored twice in the third inning to make it a 4-3 game and chase starter Maxx Feldman from the game, but Michael Martin was able to pick up the slack and throw 3 1/3 strong innings of relief. Martin allowed just two hits during his outing, walked only one and struck out three batters.

The Jaspers scored single runs in the fourth and the eighth to continue to pad their lead. Sean Abbate retired the final two batters of the game to earn his first save of the season.

Manhattan returns to action on Thursday, May 15 against Saint Peter's to start a three-game home series, capping Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play. Entering the final weekend of league play, the Jaspers (8-13) are a game behind Marist (9-12) for the final berth in the MAAC Championships.
