Scouting Report

Manhattan (5-14, 3-6 MAAC)

The Jaspers hit the road for the next two games and look to snap a three game slide. Manhattan has a chance to rebound from a 51-41 loss on Friday to Loyola at Draddy Gymnasium. Emmy Andujar was a bright spot for the Jaspers on a slow offensive night as he recorded his third career double-double. Andujar, a 6'6" Bronx native, scored 12 points and dominated the glass pulling down a career-high 16 rebounds.

Manhattan will try for its second MAAC road win of the season when the Jaspers meet Rider. Earlier this month, the Jaspers grinded out a 55-53 win at Saint Peter's. Freshman forward Shane Richards led the way with a game-high 16 points on four three-pointers, while junior forward Rhamel Brown contributed 11 points on 5-for-7 shooting and corralled a team-high six rebounds to top Saint Peter's.

The Jaspers have rallied behind junior co-captains Rhamel Brown and Michael Alvarado this season. Brown averages 11.5 points per game as he leads the MAAC shooting 55.8% from the field. Brown is the conference leader in blocks per game (2.6 bpg) and he ranks fifth in rebounding (6.7 rpg).

Alvarado is a two-time All-MAAC point guard who has averaged 8.5 points and 2.0 assists per game. He is the Jaspers' top free-throw shooter hitting 79.7% of his attempts this season.

Richards has emerged as a premier three-point shooting threat in the MAAC. The freshman from New York City leads Manhattan with 38 trios. He has delivered three performances where he has hit six three-pointers. Richards stands second in the MAAC averaging 3.1 threes per contest against league opponents.

Manhattan ranks third in the league holding MAAC opponents to 61.0 points per game. The Jaspers are fourth with a 40.7% field goal defense in conference games.

Rider (11-10, 6-3 MAAC)

The Broncs enter the contest tied for fourth in the MAAC with a 6-3 conference record. Rider had its five game win streak snapped on Friday with a 67-50 home loss to Canisius. Rider is led by juniors Anthony Myles (12.2 ppg) and Daniel Stewart (11.0 ppg). Stewart is the Broncs' top rebounder with 6.7 boards per game, which ranks fifth in the MAAC.

The Broncs are the third best three-point shooting team in the league with a 35.5% field goal percentage beyond the arc. Myles tops the team with 33 three-point field goals, while junior guard Tommy Pereira has 30 threes shooting 44.1% from downtown.

Senior guard Jonathon Thompson is the third Bronc who has averaged double-figures in scoring this season (10.7 ppg). He has a team-high 71 assists this year and is in the top-10 of the MAAC averaging 3.4 per game.

Rider is 5-4 at home this season, but has won three of four at Alumni Gymnasium this month.
